About us
An idea turned into a landscape: over the years a model of East Frisia took shape in Leer – not every single place, but the corners that mattered most to its builders.
The idea
East Frisia as you would not otherwise see it
It started with a simple question: how do you show an entire region so that people can grasp it in an afternoon? The answer was a model – large enough for detail, small enough for the overview.
Everything was built in house. Landscapes, buildings and technology were made by hand, many of them modelled on real places in the region – from the town sign to the figure on the dike.
Over time the park and the mini golf course were added – turning an exhibition into a full day out.

Behind it
Built to be discovered
Behind the layout is a small team covering model building, technology, reception and catering. Many details take months to create – and are then discovered by visitors in seconds. That is exactly why we do it.
