All of East Frisia in a single day
East Frisia at 1:87 scale – harbours, dikes, islands and towns, in motion and shifting between day and night. Plus a park and mini golf, all on one site.
Three areas, one visit
A model world inside, green space outside
Leeraner Miniaturland combines a large model-building exhibition with an open park and a mini golf course. Half a day is enough for a first look – seeing everything takes a full one.
The exhibition
Dikes, harbours, windmills, towns and islands – connected by trains, ships and thousands of details. And then night falls.

The park
Wide paths, planted beds, shaded benches and plenty of room to walk. The park is made for staying – no programme required.

The mini golf course
18 metal-edged lanes on a paved surface. Fair for children, tricky enough for grown-ups – clubs and balls are available on site.

Day & night
When the lights go down
Thousands of windows light up, street lamps come on and the fairground becomes the brightest place in the region. Stay a moment and you see the same scene twice – completely differently.
Exhibition
A region you understand from above
From the harbour of Leer via Emden and Aurich out to the islands: the model world shows East Frisia the way you would otherwise only see it from the air. Trains run and a ship makes its way along the Ems.
Many scenes tell small stories – the fire brigade on the country road, the rowing boat on the lake, the helicopter above the hospital. Look twice and you will find something different the second time.
What there is to see
East Frisia from the coast to the inland
Towns & villages
Leer, Emden, Aurich, Pewsum, Hinte, Suurhusen, Marienhafe and many more – each with its own town sign.
Coast & islands
Dikes, mudflats and the islands of Norderney and Juist with beaches, lighthouses and ferries.
Harbours & engineering
The Ems with its locks and harbour cranes, plus continuous train operations right across the layout.
Everyday scenes
The fire brigade on the country road, the rowing boat on the lake, the air ambulance above the hospital, the fair at the edge of town.
